I was recently approached by Sarah Francis, of Irving, TX, to enlist any and all printmakers who would like to participate in her Print Exchange for a Cure campaign. Having had a family member affected by this disease, I concur that this is a worthy effort to raise awareness and $ for research. Print Exchange and Auction for a Cure
to benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
I would like to invite all printmakers to participate in the second annual
Print Exchange For A Cure. The purpose of this exchange is to raise funds in order to find a cure for blood cancers and offer financial support to those already battling these diseases.
Requirements:
• Deadline: Prints must be received by May 9, 2012.
• Minumum cost to participate is $20 US or $30 International paid via PayPal to sarahfrancisart@gmail.com or a check made out to Sarah Francis, other donations for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society are always appreciated. Please let me know if you would like a receipt for tax purposes.
• Please RSVP by April 25, 2012 to: Sarah at sarahfrancisart@gmail.com
• Media: Relief, intaglio, lithography, silkscreen, solar, woodblock, or any process other than digital.
• These works do not have to fall under any particular theme.
• Paper size: 7 inches by 10 inches. Print/image size is open.
• Edition: 12 identical hand-pulled, original prints, with glassine or other archival leafing between each print, cut to match paper size.
• Each print must be signed and numbered somewhere on the print.
• In addition, clearly print artist’s name, title, and media on the back of each print
A portfolio of 10 randomly selected prints will be mailed to each participant by June 1, 2012.
You will also be able to find digital images of all prints involved at the following website: www.sarahfrancisart.com
The 11th print in each edition will be auctioned off through ebay. The proceeds from the sale of each piece will go to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the 12th print in the edition will remain in the University of Dallas’s Private Collection of Prints.
The works will be exhibited in the Upper Gallery at the University of Dallas.
